
Kabul (Afghanistan) – Thirteen Afghan civilians were killed in Pakistani air strikes on the three Afghan provinces of Khost, Kunar and Paktika, according to Zabihullah Mujahid, the chief spokesperson of Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban government. The Taliban stated that the deceased included 11 children, while the remaining two victims were an elderly man and a woman. Pakistan has not yet issued any response regarding this matter. It is being reported that Afghanistan carried out attacks across the Pakistani border in retaliation for the Pakistani strikes.

Pakistan has repeatedly alleged that the Taliban government in Afghanistan is providing shelter to organisations responsible for terrorist attacks in Pakistan, particularly the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The Taliban, however, has consistently rejected these allegations. This issue remains the principal cause of tensions between the two countries. Hundreds of civilians and soldiers from both nations have been killed in the conflict so far.
