Fresh violence has erupted along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border following the end of a temporary ceasefire. At least two civilians were killed and several others injured in firing that took place on March 25.
The Afghan side has further alleged that Pakistani forces targeted civilians who were returning to their homes.
It also expressed condolences to the victims’ families and reaffirmed support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Pakistan said the operation targeted militants associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Notably, the Noor Khan Airbase had earlier been targeted and reportedly damaged by India during ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Pakistan tried to attack Afghanistan again on the night of February 26th. At the time, the Afghan army shot down a Pakistani plane and also attacked military posts.
