Blood flows on the streets in Hindu localities of Bhagyanagar due to animal slaughter during Bakrid (Eid al-Adha)

Local Hindus Express Anger

Bhagyanagar (Telangana) – A video showing blood flowing through the streets due to animal slaughter in the Mushirabad area of Bhagyanagar (Hyderabad) during Bakrid (Eid al-Adha) was widely circulated on social media. The blood was seen from the Bangladesh Market area extending into roads within nearby Hindu localities. Local Hindus expressed anger after witnessing this disturbing scene. Advocate Neelam Bhargava Ram, associated with the BJP’s Legal Cell in Bhagyanagar, shared the video on the social media platform X and brought attention to the matter.

People criticised animal welfare organisations such as PETA India on social media. Some questioned why such organisations, which often comment on Hindu festivals, are now silent regarding this instance of animal slaughter and sanitation concerns. Some individuals argued that the incident affected local residents’ religious sentiments and public cleanliness, and that minority communities should not be given a free hand to inconvenience society in the name of religious traditions.

Police administration silent!

What is surprising is that the police and local administration have remained silent and have taken no concrete action on this serious matter.

Editorial Perspective

  • When Hindu festival processions pass near mosques and even a small amount of colored powder (gulal) reaches the vicinity of a mosque, incidents of attacks on Hindus and even killings have occurred. If such situations are now occurring during Bakrid, then secular democratic governments expect Hindus to remain passive and stay indoors. We need to take note of this
  • Why do animal welfare organisations remain silent about such incidents?
