Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) – A shocking incident has come to light in the Sulur area in Coimbatore, where a 10-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and later murdered. The girl, who had gone near her house to buy groceries, was later found dead near a lake outside the village. Chief Minister Joseph Vijay also reacted to the incident, describing it as tragic. Two individuals connected with the case have been arrested. He said that “strict action will be taken against the accused”.

Regarding this incident, Coimbatore West Zone Inspector General of Police R.V. Ramya Bharati held a press conference and provided information. During the press conference on such a serious incident, the woman Police officer appeared to spend her time smiling as though she was attending a festive event. After footage of Ramya Bharati’s conduct was recorded and circulated, outraged citizens demanded that “such an incompetent officer should be dismissed from service.”

Editorial Perspective

It is better not to even imagine what the attitude of such insensitive high-ranking women Police officers might be towards other crimes when they appear so casual and insensitive about the sexual assault on a minor girl. It would not be incorrect to say that it is because of such officers, criminals are roaming freely.
