Hamirpur (Uttar Pradesh)– In a case involving the rape of an innocent minor girl inside a mosque, a special court sentenced Maulana Muntazir Alam to life imprisonment. He was also fined ₹26,000. The court clarified that the convict will have to remain in prison till his last breath.

On 29th November 2023, the 11‑year‑old girl had gone to the village mosque with her younger brother to study. The Maulana sent the other children away and kept her brother occupied with tasks. He then lured the girl into a room under false pretenses and committed the assault.
