Ambitious ‘Smart Border Project’ announced to prevent infiltration from Pakistan and Bangladesh

Home Minister Amit Shah

New Delhi – The Union Government will soon launch the ‘Smart Border Project’ to permanently prevent infiltration through the borders of Pakistan and Bangladesh, informed Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Unnatural demographic changes in border areas will not be allowed

Addressing the Border Security Force passing-out parade and the Rustamji Memorial Lecture, Home Minister Shah said that the country’s security can no longer depend solely on traditional methods. India’s borders will be made completely “impenetrable” with the help of advanced technology. Under the Smart Border Project, drones, advanced radar systems, high-tech cameras, and other sophisticated technologies will be deployed along the borders. Once the project becomes operational, the work of the Border Security Force will become easier, more precise, and stronger. The Government has resolved not only to stop infiltration, but also to identify and expel every infiltrator hiding within the country. Unnatural demographic changes in border regions will not be permitted. The conspiracy to alter demographics through infiltration must be thwarted by the Border Security Force. Border security is not merely the responsibility of one force but is linked to the territorial security of the entire nation.
