Sambhal (UP) – It has come to light that two Muslim teachers at the Jalab Sarai Government School in Sambhal were forcing Hindu students to adopt Islamic practices. The teachers have been identified as Anjar Ahmad and Mohammad Gul Ejaz. The two teachers reportedly asked female Hindu students to wear hijabs and male students to wear Islamic skull caps and offer prayers. They also made derogatory remarks against other religions within the school premises.

1. The matter came to light after certain videos related to the school went viral on social media. Following the emergence of the videos, the district administration took immediate action. On the instructions of District Magistrate Ankit Khandelwal, both teachers were suspended. In addition, the school principal, Balesh Kumar, was also suspended on charges of concealing information about the matter from senior authorities and showing negligence.

2. The District Magistrate has constituted a three-member committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Development Officer to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter. The committee will investigate the entire case and determine whether others were also involved.

3. The District Magistrate clarified that no form of religious or ideological pressure under the guise of education will be tolerated and that strict action will be taken against those found guilty.

Editorial Perspective

  • BJP-ruled states should ensure that individuals with “jihadi mentality” are not recruited into government schools in the future.
  • While Muslim and Christian teachers influence Hindu students away from Hinduism toward their own religions, Hindu teachers continue to promote the so-called secularism.
