Objection raised to Govind Pansare’s book ‘Shivaji Kon Hota’ for defaming Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Pitiable attempt to portray Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a secular king through this book – Durgesh Parulkar, devout Hindu author and orator

Dombivali (Thane) – Presently, there is a debate on a book titled ‘Shivaji Kon Hota (Who was Shivaji)?’ written by comrade Govind Pansare. The book tries to portray Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a secular king, stated Mr Durgesh Parulkar, a devout Hindu author and orator in the background of the dispute recently created on ‘Shivaji Kon Hota ?’a  book written by Comrade Govind Pansare. Mr Parulkar further added that Pansare has described the war between Shivaji Maharaj and Mughal rulers as not a religious war. In support of Pansare’s claim, Mr Parulkar gave example of war between Adil Shah and Mughals.

While fighting against Shivaraya, Muslims were fighting against only Hindu Dharma but when they fought against each other, it was a political war since during those wars fought between Adil Shah and the Mughals, no mosque was demolished by either of the warring groups; however, while fighting against Hindus, Hindu temples were attacked and the Deities’ idols were vandalised; but Pansare didn’t pay attention to these facts.

In the same book, however, Govind Pansare says that Muslims attacked Hindu temples for looting and to cover this wrong of Muslims, claims that on establishing their rule, Muslim rulers gave donations to temples. Islam religion has been founded on the principles that ‘No God is superior to Allah or worth worshipping in the whole world. Non-Muslims will not be able to go to Heaven’; therefore, Pansare’s claim of Islamic rulers giving donations to temples is false.

The meaning of tolerance explained by Pansare is not similar to what Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had. According to Pansare, tolerance for other religions is indifference towards own Dharma which was not the principle of Chhatrapati Shivaraya. The book written by Govind Pansare, ‘Shivaji Kon Hota?’ is not a book on Muslim destroyer and the founder of Hindavi Swaraj viz Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Distortion of history through the book ‘Shivaji Kon Hota?’ – Ranajit Savarkar, executive president, Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak

Mumbai – The book written by Com. Govind Pansare titled ‘Shivaji Kon Hota?’, is a deliberate insult of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and hiding the original history. Maharaj has been referred to in singular and in a hateful manner. Every Hindu should condemn such distortion of history, was a firm response by ‘Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak’s executive president Mr Ranajit Savarkar while speaking to ‘Sanatan Prabhat’s representative in the background of the dispute created by the book ‘Shivaji Kon Hota?’ by Com Govind Pansare.

Mr Ranajit Savarkar further stated that Govind Pansare says in the book that there was no proof of who demolished the temple of Tuljapur. Poet Bhushan, who was present during the regime has, however, mentioned about the same. There is a reference in ‘Shiva-Bharat’. Com Pansare has tried to overlook all these proofs in his book and tried to glorify Muslim rulers. Hindus are misled by writing of such wrong history.

I am proud of MLA Sanjay Gaikwad !

It is natural for a genuine Maratha to get angry when Chhatrapati Shivaji Mahjaraj is being insulted. If out of anger, he had said something about the insult of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, it is justifiable. The basic wrong is done by Govind Pansare by distorting history. If a Hindu is raising his voice against the distortion of history, I am proud of him. This book by Govind Pansare should be boycotted and worth forgetting in the national interest, stated Ranajit Savarkar.

Re-publishing a book like ‘Shivaji Kon Hota ?’ and distributing it is an attempt to disturb social peace – Vaidya Ashwini Malkar, ‘Arogyabharati’, Kolhapur

Kolhapur – Vaidya Ashwini Malkar of ‘Arogyabharati’ when came to know about the re-printing of the book, felt that re-publishing and distributing such a book was an attempt to disturb social harmony. She further added that a few days back, Harshvardhan Sapkal, a Congress leader compared Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to tyrant Tipu Sultan. A fanatic woman from Kabnur-Ichalkaranji had torn a picture Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj; therefore, it seems like some people are trying to make Kolhapur as a centre of Naxalites. Police should uproot people with such perverted attitude. The Police Department is expected to take stringent action against people involved in this matter. The so-called progressive factions should not try patience of devout Hindu activists.
