Youth arrested in Canada for asking elderly Sikh man, “What are you doing in my country ?”

Ontario (Canada) – Police in Woodstock city arrested a young man in connection with making racial remarks against an elderly Sikh man. The incident occurred on 22 April.

While the elderly man was walking, a burqa-clad accused stopped him, pushed him, and asked, “What are you doing in my country ?” The accused continued to hurl racial abuses. Despite this, the elderly man recorded a video of the incident and immediately called the police.

On seeing the police, the accused attempted to flee by jumping over a school wall and entering the premises; however, the police chased and apprehended the accused.
