Gautier suspects action was taken for sharing videos of atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh

New Delhi – Renowned author and journalist François Gautier has stated that his Facebook account has been permanently deleted. He shared this information on X. According to Gautier, action was taken against his account after he shared videos related to violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. This incident has once again raised serious questions about the principle of freedom of expression.
Gautier mentioned on X that his Facebook account, which had approximately 2 lakh friends, was suddenly deleted. He also noted that his Instagram account had been removed twice earlier. In this context, Gautier has questioned the control and regulation exercised by social media platforms.
His ‘YouTube channel’ and ‘Twitter’ account had also been suspended earlier!
There have been previous instances of action taken against Gautier’s social media accounts. In 2021, his Twitter account was suspended, and in 2024, his YouTube channel was deleted.
No response from Meta
No official response has been issued by Meta, the parent company of Facebook, regarding this matter. Generally, accounts are removed due to violations of community guidelines, including sensitive or violent content.
