Mumbai – Speaking to a news channel, actress Mamta Kulkarni said: “When the fraudulent Ashok Kharat was crossing limits, where was the awareness of these women ? Why did they not object at that time ? When they went to him, why did they not remain mindful of their own boundaries ? If someone calls you into a private room, is it appropriate to go there so easily ? If he was acting wrongly, he should have been immediately confronted and strongly reprimanded.”
She further added that women should stop being influenced by such so-called religious leaders and instead connect their devotion directly with God.
Mamta Kulkarni also said that she has disciplined herself through rigorous effort, but nowadays exploitation is taking place in the name of religion.
Editorial PerspectiveWomen should not fall prey to fraudulent godmen and must remain aware of religious practice and self-defense. Only strict punishment for such individuals who misuse religion will help curb such tendencies in society. |
