Shivamogga (Karnataka) – Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei was killed in a joint attack by the United States and Israel. While some Iranian citizens reportedly celebrated the news, Muslims in India have been expressing grief and taking out protest marches. In Shivamogga, the Shia Muslim community organised a large protest march following the killing of Khamenei.

A Muslim woman participating in the protest said that they would not tolerate the killing of Khamenei. She stated that no matter how many people the United States and Israel kill, surrender is out of the question for them. She added that the spirit of becoming martyrs runs in their blood and that they will give birth to 100 children in every household.

The protest march was organised under the leadership of the organisation Anjuman-e-Faizan-e-Hussaini. Along with Shia religious leaders, hundreds of Muslim men and women participated in it. The participants condemned the attacks being carried out by the United States and Israel on Iran.

What connection does the death of Khamenei – who was extremely hardline, ruthless and associated with violence – have with Muslims in India giving birth to 100 children ? Those who wish to avenge his killing should go to Iran and do so there. It must be made clear that such activities will not be tolerated in India.
