Fanatic burqa-clad woman throws meat near temple in Bhopal

Upon being caught, falsely claimed that she threw the meat to feed stray dogs

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) – On 26 February, in the old city areas of Loha Bazaar and Lakhera Bazaar, a burqa-clad woman was found throwing pieces of meat near a temple, causing a stir in the locality. Enraged traders and local citizens staged protests at the spot. The incident led to tension in the area. A video of the episode has gone viral, in which the woman is seen wearing blood-stained gloves.

According to eyewitnesses, the fanatic woman had been throwing pieces of meat in the market and temple vicinity for the past few days. On 26 February, when she again attempted to throw meat, alert traders caught her red-handed. At that time, she tried to flee, abandoning her two-wheeler on the spot; however, those present restrained her.

Traders seized the key to her two-wheeler and informed the Police. The woman told the crowd and the Police that she was associated with a non-governmental organisation and that she was merely feeding stray dogs.

The fanatic Muslim woman admitted her mistake and apologised before the Police with folded hands. Traders stated that targeting religious places under the pretext of feeding dogs is unacceptable and has hurt the sentiments of devotees.

Hindu Utsav Samiti demands strict action

Following the incident, members of the Hindu Utsav Samiti and local traders submitted a memorandum at the Kotwali Police Station. Office-bearers of the committee alleged that the act was an attempt to disturb communal harmony and demanded stringent legal action. They stated that throwing meat near public and religious places is intolerable.

The Bhopal Police have brought the situation under control and initiated an investigation. The statement of the concerned woman and the circulated video are being verified. At present, the situation in the area is under control, and Police deployment has been arranged as a precautionary measure.

Editorial Perspective

Until now, such acts were committed by fanatic Muslim men. Now fanatic Muslim women are also engaging in such activities. By instigating Muslim women to carry out such acts, attempts are being made to create religious tension. The Police and administration must take serious note of this and initiate timely and appropriate action.
