Case filed against Two Muslims for abduction of a Hindu young woman at Bhigwan (Pune)

• Thrashed mother and brother, threw chutney powder  in their eyes before abducting the woman in car

• Protest march taken to Bhigwan Police Station by ‘Sakal Hindu Samaj’

• Muslims sent video where the woman is seen saying that she ran away on her own wish with the Muslim

Bhigwan (Dist Pune ) – On 17.02.2026, at 3.30 p.m., a young woman was abducted in broad daylight from the road behind Bhigwan Government Rest House. A case has been filed against Haroon Sheikh and Ayan Haroon Sheikh. ‘Sakal Hindu Samaj’ staged protests to condemn the incident in the presence of BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar and NCP MLA Sangram Jagtap, demanding a prompt search for the woman. Later, a video was sent by that woman to the Police and her family where she is seen saying that she has gone with them at her own will. The Police, therefore, denied permission to the protest march. The woman was going back home on a bike with her brother and mother after shopping for her marriage. As they reached the road on the backside of the Government Rest House, the suspects stopped the bike.

They suddenly attacked the woman, her brother and mother, throwing chutney powder in their eyes. Then, they beat up the mother and the brother with a wooden stick. They forcibly took the woman to their car and fled while the mother and brother were lying injured. The injured family members immediately lodged a complaint with Bhigwan Police Station.

It is said that the woman and the Muslim knew each other for many years. The woman shared a video on the social media about her going with the Muslim on her own.

The woman must have been forced to make such video – MLA Gopichand Padalkar

BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar informed that the video has been sent through a different App to the Police and her relatives. Due to the use of a different App, the woman’s location could not be found; therefore, the woman must have been forced to make such video. The fanatic has someone’s support. There are other cases registered against him and he is an accused even in other cases. MLA Padalkar mentioned that he was going to meet the Police. It is an attempt by the Police to save a criminal.
