Student Commits Suicide after Parents Confiscate Mobile Phone Due to Addiction

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) – In Shriram Colony, 14-year-old student Ansh Sahu committed suicide at home by hanging, reportedly due to addiction to mobile phone games. His family informed police that Ansh had developed a habit of playing online games on his phone for several days. Despite repeated warnings, he continued playing. Observing the adverse effect on his studies, his parents had confiscated his phone.

At the time, Ansh’s parents had gone out for an event. Upon returning, they found him hanging in his room. Police are investigating the incident. Ansh, an 8^thgrade student, was the only child of his parents, who are both teachers at a private school.

Editorial Perspective

Parents who themselves do not practice discipline cannot instil it in their children. Such children fall prey to trivial pursuits or other addictions, ultimately destroying their own lives.
