Two infiltrator women deported to Bangladesh return to Mumbai !

Serious investigation underway into human trafficking networks or security lapses

Mumbai – In August 2025, Mumbai Police had apprehended two Bangladeshi infiltrator women—Bilkis Begum Sirmiya Akhtar from Cuffe Parade and Julekha Jamal Sheikh from Nagpada—and deported them to Bangladesh. They did not possess any valid documents, passport, or visa (official documents permitting entry into India). However, they once again entered India by breaching tight border security through the dense forests of ‘Goja Danga’ along the India–Bangladesh border and returned to Mumbai. Cases have been registered against both women at the police station.

In this connection, a serious investigation is underway to determine whether human trafficking, security lapses, or assistance from other individuals was involved.

Editorial Perspective

How many such infiltrators may have returned to Mumbai or India so far? Only by identifying their routes of infiltration and addressing the issue at its root will this problem be resolved. Otherwise, this cat-and-mouse game with infiltrators will continue for years !
