Under the leadership of Mandir Mahasangh, over 1,000 temple trustees from 22 Districts came together to demand that Maharashtra Government immediately implement a strict ‘Anti-Land Grabbing Act’ on the lines of what Gujarat and Karnataka have. Thousands of acres of temple land have been illegally grabbed by land mafia in collusion with certain revenue officials. More than 300 memorandums were submitted to Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Revenue Minister, and officials.
