Alleged to be a previous enmity that triggered the act

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) – Unknown assailants tried to burn and kill Mahant Mahesh Das of Hanumangarhi. He complained to the police about it. Mahesh Das is the Mahant of Govindgad Ashram in Basantiya Patti within Hanumangarhi. The citizens expressed that the incident might have been from a previous enmity.
While sharing information about the incident, Mahant Mahesh Das said that, around 2.45 at night, some unknown persons cut the net of one of the rooms in the ashram, threw some inflammable material inside and ran away. He was sleeping on a bed on the floor of his room. He woke up due to some heat (when the fire reached his bed) and realised that the room was completely covered with smoke, and fire. He ran to save himself, shouting for help, hearing this his disciples came and they extinguished the fire within half an hour with water and sand. By that time his belongings and the bed, blanket had turned to ashes. He called the police and told them that some people were after his life and conspiring against him. Who was instrumental in this fire incident, is not known yet. The police are checking the CCTV footage.
