Muslim mob launches deadly attack on Hindu journalist in Bangladesh !

Journalist undergoing treatment in hospital

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – The relentless attacks on Hindus by Islamic extremists in Bangladesh continue unabated. The latest incident occurred in the Sitakunda area of Chittagong. On October 19th, a mob of Muslims assaulted 45-year-old Hindu journalist Liton Kumar Chowdhury. The attack took place near the Shyama Puja pavilion in the Railway Gate area of Sitakunda municipality.

Liton Kumar Chowdhury was severely injured in the assault and was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for treatment. Chowdhury is a correspondent for the Dainik Janakantha newspaper and a former general secretary of the Sitakunda Press Club.

A video of the brutal attack has surfaced on social media. According to local reports, the assault was carried out by members of a group called ‘Asad Bahini’. They accused Chowdhury of being an agent of the Awami League and of “spreading false news.”

Chowdhury’s son, Rakesh Chowdhury, told the Bangladeshi daily Prothom Alo that his father was speaking to some people outside their home at night when a group of youths suddenly appeared, used abusive language, and started a quarrel. Moments later, they attacked his father violently, snatching away his mobile phone and wallet before fleeing the scene.

Editorial Perspective

Until the ethnic cleansing of Hindus in Bangladesh stops, such attacks will continue; and it is equally true that not a single Hindu organization or political party across the world will come forward to help them.
