Pakistan government promises power supply, healthcare, and better education!

Islamabad (Pakistan) – The Pakistan government has finally reached an agreement with the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee. Following this accord, the unrest that had been raging in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) for the past five days has subsided. Out of the 38 demands raised by the protesters, the government has accepted 21. The violence has so far claimed 10 lives and left more than 100 injured.
Major accepted demands
1. Witnessing the escalating violence, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif dispatched a delegation led by former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to Muzaffarabad, the capital of PoK. The delegation accepted 21 of the protesters’ demands, the key points of which are as follows:
2. Education reform: Establishment of educational boards to improve school-level education.
Healthcare: Installation of MRI and CT Scan machines in every district hospital.
3. Electricity: Allocation of 10 billion Pakistani rupees to strengthen the power supply system in PoK.
Infrastructure: Initiation of feasibility studies for the construction of two new tunnels in the Neelum Valley.
4. Aviation: Planning for the construction of an international airport in Mirpur.
Editorial PerspectiveA country starving and bankrupt, yet obsessed with military spending due to its hatred toward India, now claims it will provide infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). In reality, Pakistan has merely offered hollow promises to the people there. These assurances will never be fulfilled, and more protests in PoK are inevitable ! |
