Urgent action to prevent destruction of evidence of corruption by former trustees

Ahmednagar, Maharashtra – Following the dissolution of the Shani Shingnapur Devasthan Trust, reports surfaced that documents were being tampered with. The trust had been accused of several irregularities and corrupt practices. After taking charge as administrator of the temple, the District Collector immediately sealed the Devasthan office to ensure that evidence of corruption was not destroyed by former trustees.
The sealing was carried out in the presence of police security. Interestingly, the Executive Officer of the Devasthan was absent during this action. Going forward, the entire management of the temple trust will remain under the administration’s control.
