Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Advocates for Ram Rajya. Says, Bharat is Already a Hindu Rashtra.

UB : Pranam, Gurudev. Whether a cultural, constitutional and sovereign Hindu Rashtra is possible in Bharat ? If it is possible, then when ?

Sri Sri : See, it is already a Hindu Rashtra where majority are Hindus.

If you see our Constitution, Constitution also has all the pictures. Have you seen the original Constitution ? There is Ramayana, Mahabharata and all that. Bharat is a very Adhyatmic country from long time and it depends on the leaders. If the leaders have faith, then they will promote faith. If the leaders have a condemnation towards the culture and faith, then all the Dharmasthals will be left without any attention.

See, Kashi, Kashi has been there, the oldest city on the planet Earth. How it was ? My God, you can’t even describe. It was so dirty, so narrow lanes.

Thousands of lakhs of people go, and the Kashi, that Vishwanath Gali is so small and there will be cows also walking in that. It was in such a dirty place. The ghats were so dirty. But today you see, Kashi, the facelift has happened.

It is completely different. So, same with Mahakal and Ujjain. Ujjain is an ancient city of our civilization and it was in such ruins. And today, it’s much different.

Take for example, Ayodhya. I was there negotiating the deal in Ayodhya. Eight months I had to go there every month, in fact every other week. And the lanes and the roads, it was all so neglected. How come 70 years it took for us to make these places, pilgrim places, proper for people to come and, you know, convenience for pilgrims.

So, it is not just in books, when the leaders of society, they honour the faith of people, they care for people, then of course it will be Ram Rajya.

Bharat is already a Hindu Rashtra;now we have to make it a Ram Rajya

Upananda Brahmachari | HENB | Bengaluru | Aug 31, 2025 : In a thought-provoking address at the Art of Living’s Vishalakshmi amphitheater, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar shared his vision for Bharat’s future, emphasizing the need to strive for Ram Rajya. During an exclusive meeting with members of SMaRT4 Bharat, a group dedicated to promoting fair reporting and reviving the Indian knowledge system, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar discussed the concept of a Hindu Rashtra and the role of leadership in shaping the country’s spiritual and cultural landscape.

The SMaRT4Bharat team members met at the International Center of Art of Living (AoL) in Bengaluru for their members’ meeting, where they experienced the weekend happiness program, including Sudarshan Kriya, in an excellent way of gaining spiritual and social guidance from the dedicated AoL Team and their Supreme Master Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The AoL is imparting various social and spiritual services globally with a view to making Bharat a Vishwa Guru once again in a holistic manner.

The SMaRT members were fortunate to have Sri Sri’s guidance, followed by various questions in the personal, social, and spiritual fields in an exclusive meeting arranged by AoL authority. The members had many questions on social issues in a national perspective, unity of Hindu society, and protection of Sanatan Dharma.

When asked in an evening Satsang held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in the AoL Vishalakshmi amphitheater, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar opined that Bharat is already a Hindu Rashtra and needs to be made into a Ram Rajya.

Here is an excerpt from that video of Satsang, where thousands of audience members joined the program to have the blessings and guidance of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Though He mentioned the pictures of Ramayana and Mahabharat in the original Constitution of India and the Hindu majority of Bharat for being a natural Hindu Rashtra here, the adulteration in the Constitution can’t be ignored anyway.

The then Congress Government hit the sanctity of original Indian Constitution by inserting two vices as ‘Secular’ and ‘Socialist’ in it at the time of Emergency very unconstitutionally to attack the Hindu interest in a very sinister way.

There are Articles 25-30 in the Constitution where Hindus are discriminated with their Dharmik Adhikar (Religious Rights) only to promote the non-Hindu religions in their educational and other fields. These Articles also snatch the Hindu rights of Hindus to make Bharat a practical Hindu Rashtra. In a practical Hindu Rashtra, there should be no Love Jihad, Land Jihad, Cow-slaughter, Conversion, Corruption, and so on, which violate the rights of Hindus.

Many SMaRT members are of the mind that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar must take initiatives to make Bharat a Cultural (Dharma-Sanskritik), Constitutional (Samvidhanik) and Sovereign (Sarvabhoum) Hindu Rashtra to save the Sanatani Hindus including its varied sects under the threat of Jihad, Conversion, Corruption, Environmental crisis, etc.
