China responds to U.S.A.’s ‘H-1B visa’ fee hike

Beijing, China – U.S.A. President Donald Trump’s decision to increase the fee for new ‘H-1B visa’ by USD 100,000 (Rs 88 lakh) has caused problems for the youth of many countries, including India. In this, Indians will be affected more by this. Against this backdrop, China announced the launch of the ‘K Visa’ category to attract young people from all over the world, especially from important fields like technology, engineering etc. This decision will be effective from October 1, 2025.

Who can apply ?
Those who have obtained a higher degree from reputed universities or research institutes in China or abroad can apply for this visa. Applicants must meet the qualifications and requirements set by the Chinese authorities and provide documentation.
Key Features of K Visa !
1. The entry validity of K visa will be longer and will include extension of stay in China.
2. Unlike many other work visas, there will be no need to take an ‘invitation letter’ from the relevant company while applying for this visa.
3. Upon entering China, ‘K visa’ holders, entrepreneurs and professionals will be allowed to participate in educational exchanges pertaining to Chinese education, culture and technology.
