Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) exposed the activities of a human trafficking gang. This group had illegally sent Pakistani citizens to Japan in the name of professional football players. The agent of a suspected human trafficking gang has been arrested in this case. After questioning him, they arrested 22 people pretending to be players.
The investigation revealed that a fake registration letter from the Pakistan Football Federation and a fake ‘no objection’ certificate from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were attached to the visa (an official document or stamp that allows entry into, exit from, or travel through a country.) This created the impression that those people were official players of a team. This group had left for Japan on January 1, 2024 and did not return. This raised suspicions among the Japanese authorities. After the investigation, the fraud was exposed, and they were sent back to Pakistan. The investigation also found that 40 lakh Pakistani rupees were taken from each person to travel to Japan.
