Washington (USA) – US President Donald Trump has made a list of drug-trafficking countries and illegal production of narcotics, with 23 countries including India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Columbia, Bolivia and Venezuela. In the ‘Presidential Determination Report’ delivered to the Congress in the US Parliament, Trump has stated that by producing or facilitating the movement of illegal narcotics and related chemicals by these countries were threatening the safety of the US and its citizens. The harmful drug like fentanyl has created national emergency and a public health hazard. Fentanyl is the cause of deaths of people between the age group of 18-44 years in the USA. The US ministry clarified that not that the Governments of the countries mentioned in the list were not doing anything but the countries like Afghanistan, Bolivia, Myanmar, Columbia and Venezuela have completely failed in taking a firm action.
China is the biggest source of chemicals that go into production of the harmful drug like fentanyl. China has appealed to stop production of other narcotics like methamphetamine and its transport and to take action against them. Trump has made serious allegations even against Afghanistan that the production of narcotics is going on despite the ban imposed by the Taliban. The money earned through production of these narcotics is used for funding international criminal gangs. Taliban terrorists are earning profits through this trade; therefore, Afghanistan has failed to have control over the narcotics trade.
