“Had Banu Mushtaq criticized Islam, she would have been stoned to death !” : BJP MLA C.T. Ravi

Raichur (Karnataka) – BJP MLA and former National General Secretary C.T. Ravi made a sharp remark against writer Banu Mushtaq, accusing her of making anti-Hindu statements. He said, “If Banu Mushtaq had spoken against Islam in the same manner in which she insulted Goddess Bhuvaneshwari and Kannada cultural symbols, she would have been stoned to death.”

Speaking at a press conference, Ravi added that Mushtaq’s views stand against the very culture of this land. Referring to the Karnataka government’s decision to have Banu Mushtaq inaugurate the Mysuru Dasara celebrations, he said, “Would they tolerate it if we spoke the same way about Islam, the Quran, or Prophet Mohammad ? We are only demanding that Banu Mushtaq publicly apologize for hurting the sentiments of the Hindu majority.”

He further accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of indulging in “vote-bank politics.”

“If Banu Mushtaq wants to avoid the curse of Goddess Chamundi, she must stay away” – MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal

MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Suspended BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal once again opposed the state government’s decision to invite writer Banu Mushtaq to inaugurate this year’s Mysuru Dasara festivities. He said, “Dasara is not merely a cultural event, but a celebration deeply rooted in Sanatan Hindu religious traditions. The Chamundeshwari procession begins with floral offerings and worship. Inviting someone who has spoken ill of the Kannada flag and of sacred Hindu customs like Haldi-Kumkum is a grave mistake by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s government.”

Yatnal added, “If Banu Mushtaq wishes to avoid incurring the curse of Goddess Chamundi, it would be in her best interest to stay away from the Dasara inauguration.”
