Public Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations banned at 2 places in Karnataka

District Collector cites the reason of the law and order

Ballari (Karnataka) – District Magistrate and Collector Prashant Kumar Mishra has issued an order banning the installation of Ganesh idols, organising entertainment programs and gathering of crowds in public places in Gonal and Honnalli villages of the district on the occasion of Ganeshotsav this year. He said that the decision was taken as there is a possibility of disturbance of peace and order if Ganeshotsav is celebrated in these villages. (If there is such a suspicion, then Hindus should not be surprised if the administration, which bans the festival of Hindus that comes once a year instead of finding the concerned and maintaining law and order, wonders when it will protect the law. – Editor)

Editorial Perspective

If law and order is deteriorating, wouldn’t the District Collector’s order to ban the event itself, while it is the duty of the police to maintain it, be tantamount to supporting or abetting those who are committing the evil act of disrupting law and order ?
