Scientific approach comes only after elimination of superstitions : Former justice Abhay Oak

  • Programme on the 12th death anniversary of Dr Narendra Dabholkar

  • Lecture on India’s Constitution and Scientific Perspective

Pune – Educated society only needs to have a scientific approach and eradication of superstitions doesn’t come without a scientific outlook. To move forward towards propagation of scientific outlook and protection of fundamental rights, eradication of superstitions is essential, opined former justice Abhay Oak while speaking on the topic ‘Indian Constitution and Scientific Outlook’ in  a programme held on 20.08.2025 to commemorate the 12th death anniversary of Dr Narendra Dabholkar.

The programme was attended by former President of ‘Sahitya Sammelan’, Mr  Lakshmikant Tamboli, ‘Muslim Satyashodhak Samaj’s Dr Shamshuddin Tamboli, senior IPS Officer Ashok Dheevare, Prof Nitish Navsagare, ANiS’s senior activist Dr Hamid Dabholkar, Mukta Dabholkar, etc.

Discrimination by former justice Hemant Gokhale

Former Justice Hemant Gokhale

Former Justice Hemant Gokhale stated on the occasion that the oppression of minority communities in present times is totally against scientific approach because scientific outlook helps the sane society to protect equality. (Editorial Perspective : In present times, majority Hindus are suffering because of the few tendencies among minority communities. Justice Gokhale is overlooking the attacks on temples, conversions, love jihad and attacks on Hindus’ processions. Doesn’t discrimination show a lack of scientific approach ? How many discriminating verdicts must have been passed by the former honorary justice Gokhale during his regime ? Will it be wrong if families of the people killed by minorities raise such questions ?)

Editorial Perspectives

  • The statement made by a former honourable justice has hurt religious sentiments of 100 crore Hindus. Hindu Dharma is founded on science which even western scientists have accepted but if a judge is maligning faith in Dharma, it is not acceptable. Hindus need to start a legal movement against such people.
  • Scientific viewpoint develops through education, research, logical thinking and communication. Traditions and festivals of only Hindus are criticised in the name of eradication of superstition while these people keep mum on similar customs in other religions; therefore, it needs to be analysed whether their viewpoint is really scientific or discriminating or a part of political agenda ?
  • It is a ploy to create confusion amongst people under the guise of the Constitution and destroy faith and traditions. Hindus need to note that this movement is not really for eradication of superstitions but it is a conspiracy to attack Hindu Dharma under the guise of science.
