Washington (USA) – “We have signed an agreement with Pakistan under which the United States and Pakistan will jointly develop the vast oil reserves in Pakistan. An oil company will be selected for this partnership. Perhaps one day, it will even sell oil to India,” said U.S. President Donald Trump in a post on social media.

The Pakistan government has nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for the year 2026.

Last year, oil reserves were discovered in Pakistan

In September last year, large reserves of oil and gas were discovered off Pakistan’s maritime border. These reserves are considered the fourth largest in the world. Currently, Venezuela holds the largest oil reserves, with about 3.4 million barrels of oil. At the same time, the United States has the purest untapped oil reserves.

If Pakistan succeeds in extracting oil and gas, it could significantly impact its economy. However, it will take 4–5 years to begin extraction. Around ₹42,000 crore (420 billion rupees) will be required to complete research related to this project.

Editorial Perspective

On one hand, the US imposes sanctions on companies from other countries for trading oil with Iran, and on the other, it provokes India by signing an oil deal with Pakistan — a country that should be declared a ‘terrorist state’. This clearly shows that the US is not a friend of India, but an enemy !
