According to the complaint, 3 Hindu girls were abducted, forcibly converted to Islam, and then married off to Muslim men on the same day.
Family members of the victims strongly condemned these forced conversions and demanded the immediate arrest of the abductors.
The 3 underage girls appeared before the Hyderabad bench of the Sindh High Court along with their abductors. Before the court, all 3 girls claimed, “We converted of our own free will and married our Muslim partners by choice.” Following this, the Sindh High Court granted bail to the girls and their husbands.
In the aftermath of this case, the Hindu community in Pakistan has accused the police and government of discriminatory behaviour towards minorities.
