Assistant Executive officer of Tirupati Temple suspended for attending regularly the Sunday Mass at the Church

Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) – The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board, which manages Andhra Pradesh’s Sri Venkateswara temple, on Tuesday suspended its Assistant Executive Officer A Rajasekhar Babu, noting in a statement that he had been attending local church prayers every Sunday in his hometown of Puttur in Tirupati district.The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board clarified, they said Babu was suspended for participating in a non Hindurituals. Earlier the TTD Board transferred 18 employees who were practising and participating in non-Hindu religious activities. They included six teachers at various TTD educational institutes, a deputy executive officer (welfare), an assistant executive officer, an assistant technical officer (electrical), a hostel worker, two electricians, and two nurses.

The Temple Administration has published a notice which says that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Committee has found that Rajashekhar Babu used to attend regularly the Sunday Mass at the Church in his native place Puttur. This behaviour is against the rules of the Devasthanam. Hence this action was taken. This action was taken after the Devasthanam’s security department found evidence supporting the accusation and also presented other proofs of the deviation of the conduct rules.
