After ‘Yashwant Fort’ in Rajapur taluka of Ratnagiri district, now ‘Goa Fort’ in Dapoli taluka is seen to have shoddy construction !

Dapoli, Maharashtra – The repair work of the fortification of the historic Goa fort at Harne in said taluka, which is a testimony to the valour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and that of Sarkhel Kanhoji Angre, has collapsed within a month. This has raised doubts about the contractor’s efficiency of the work. Angry over the incident, Shiv Sainiks and citizens have been demanding “strict action against the contractors concerned, engineers and officials of the Archaeology Department”.

1.The Goa fort at Harne in said taluka is standing bearing the brunt of the sea waves. After the wear and tear of the fort’s fortifications in some places, the government and the Archaeology Department took up the repair work of this fort as repairs were required in some places.
2.The repair work of the fort’s fortifications was started in May after the government sanctioned lakhs of rupees for the work. The repair work has now collapsed and the old fortifications of the fort are still standing strong.
