Malappuram (Kerala) – In Malappuram, a Muslim couple’s one-year-old child died because they refused to provide modern medical treatment for his jaundice. The police have registered a case of unnatural death in this matter.

The deceased child’s name is Aysen Erhan, the mother’s name is Hira Harira, and the father’s name is Nawaz. After the child’s burial, the police exhumed the body for post-mortem examination. Further action will be decided based on the post-mortem report.

The family resides in Kottakkal, Malappuram. The mother, Hira Harira, is an acupuncturist. In the past, she had shared social media posts opposing modern medical treatments.

Muslim woman dies during childbirth at home

In another incident earlier this year in April in Malappuram, 35-year-old Asma died during childbirth at home. In this case, her husband Sirajuddin was arrested on charges of culpable homicide and destruction of evidence. He had tried to secretly bury Asma’s body in Perumbavoor, Ernakulam.

Sirajuddin had spread false information against modern medical services for childbirth through several videos on his YouTube channel ‘Mudavar Kafila’.
