The dargah was built on 11,000 square feet of land
Jamnagar (Gujarat) – A historic crackdown on illegal constructions is underway, including over 300 houses and 7–8 Islamic structures. Amidst this, Jamnagar police discovered marble-clad rooms and a luxurious bathtub (a basin-like structure for bathing) inside an illegally constructed dargah.
Jamnagar Police Commissioner Premasukh Delu stated that illegal Islamic structures have been built on 7 lakh square feet of land, valued at ₹193.57 crore. These constructions had encroached on government land over the past 25–30 years. The commissioner further added that the dargah with luxurious rooms was built in a grand, palatial style, and even featured bathtubs similar to those found in royal residences. Spread over 11,000 square feet, the structure is now under suspicion of having received foreign funding. A board at the site declared, “No kind of money will be accepted.” Meanwhile, the caretaker of the dargah has fled.

Editorial PerspectiveIt has often come to light that many dargahs, mosques, and madarasas have become hubs for anti-social activities. This display of opulence now appears to be yet another example of the financial backing received for jihad. |
