Four more Muslims arrested in connection with the Coimbatore bomb blast

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested four more accused in connection with the bomb blast that occurred in a four-wheeler in October 2022. Their names are Ahmad Ali, Jawahar Sadiq, Raja Abdullah alias M.A.C. Raja, and Sheikh Dawood. So far, a total of eight individuals have been arrested in this case.

The mastermind behind the blast is believed to be Jameel Basha, the founder of Madras Arabic College, who is currently absconding. He was allegedly radicalizing the youth in Tamil Nadu and preparing them for terrorist activities. Under the guise of Arabic language classes, he was spreading Salafi-Jihadi ideology. His objective was to establish a Khalifa (a ruler under Sharia law) through jihad and to overthrow India’s democratic government to impose an Islamic state.

In the Coimbatore blast, the accused named Jameesha Mubin, who was carrying the bomb in a four-wheeler, was killed. He intended to plant the bomb in the city center; however, upon seeing a police checkpoint, he stopped the vehicle in front of a temple. A gas leak then led to the explosion.

Instead of supporting such individuals, the government should ensure they are tried in a fast-track court and sentenced to death !
