India has never accepted any mediation on Pakistan-related matters, and it never will in the future

Prime Minister Modi Clarifies to US President Trump Over a Phone Call

Ottawa (Canada) – After Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Canada for the G-7 Summit (a group of seven developed countries — Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States), U.S. President Donald Trump called him on the phone. During the conversation, Trump invited Prime Minister Modi to visit the U.S., but Modi declined due to prior commitments.

During the same call, Trump proposed U.S. mediation in the India-Pakistan issue, to which Prime Minister Modi firmly declined. Modi clearly stated, “Operation Sindoor” reached a ceasefire, but without any U.S. mediation — and there will be none in the future as well. The conversation between the two leaders lasted approximately 35 minutes.

Providing details about the call, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that India clarified there was no U.S. mediation in “Operation Sindoor,” nor would there be in the future. Prime Minister Modi also said that India will no longer consider terrorist incidents as proxy war, but as direct acts of war.

The meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump was initially scheduled to happen on the sidelines of the G-7 summit. However, Trump had to leave the summit midway on May 17 to return to the U.S., due to which the meeting did not take place. Following this, both leaders had a telephonic conversation at Trump’s request.
