Madhya Pradesh Government takes historic decision

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) – The BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh has reconstituted the State Waqf Board and constituted a new 10-member board. For the first time in history, two Hindus have been appointed to the Waqf Board.
The official notification has been published in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette. The two newly appointed Hindu members are Mr Manoj Malpani of Indore and Mr Animesh Bhargav of Raghogarh in Guna district. Mr Sanwar Patel has been appointed Chairman of the Waqf Board.
The Madhya Pradesh Government took this step following the significant amendments made by the Union Government to the Waqf Act. Exercising the powers conferred under Section 13(1) of the Waqf Act, 1995 (Amended–2025), the Government constituted the Board in accordance with the provisions of Section 14 of the Act.
The primary objective of the reconstitution is to ensure the prompt and effective implementation of the new provisions.
