Muslims vandalise temple in Bangladesh

Hindus protesting the attack assaulted; 4 injured

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – Muslims vandalised the Dol Temple at Wanikpada in the Phulgazi Sadar area of Feni district, Bangladesh. Hindus who protested against the vandalism were also attacked, leaving at least four injured. One of them is reported to be in a critical condition.

Mr Sanjeev Wanik (50), owner of Shilpi Jewellers in Phulgazi Bazaar, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at Feni Sadar Hospital. Ms Shilpi Chowdhury (70), Ms Ratna Wanik (48), and Apoorva Wanik (10) were also injured. Tension prevails in the area following the incident.

Muslims attack Hindu brothers

Rinku Chandra Das, an assistant teacher, and his younger brother were suddenly attacked by Muslims at night in a taluka of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Both sustained serious injuries and were admitted to hospital with the help of local residents.

Local residents have demanded the immediate identification, arrest and stringent punishment of those involved in the attack. The reason behind the assault is not yet known.
