
Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Police recently arrested Akbar Sharif, who was found moving suspiciously on various roads in the city during the night. A search of his two-wheeler led to the recovery of five deadly weapons. During a subsequent search of his house, the Police seized 17 concealed deadly weapons of various kinds, 230 mobile phones and 700 grams of cannabis. A case has been registered against him, and further investigation is underway.
1. According to the Police, Akbar Sharif was selling cannabis near Batterayanapura Railway Station. During interrogation, he claimed that he possessed the deadly weapons for self-defence.
2. N Yatish, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Division), said the Police are investigating where the accused obtained the 230 mobile phones.
3. Official sources said that Akbar Sharif’s mother, Mehar Unnisi, was arrested in 2024 on charges of supplying cannabis. At that time, 45 kilograms of cannabis were seized.
