Pakistani Army opens fire on protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir; One killed

Rawalakot (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) – The Pakistani Army opened fire on local residents protesting against it in Rawalakot, leaving one person dead and several others injured, according to reports. More than 40,000 people were participating in the protest, which was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC).

The organisation alleged that Pakistani security forces opened fire without any prior warning on peaceful demonstrators in the A.M.B. area of Dadyal, seriously injuring several people.

Auckland (New Zealand): Kashmiri community stages demonstration

Responding to a call by the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, members of the Kashmiri community in Auckland, New Zealand, also staged a protest. The demonstrators condemned the arrest of the organisation’s executive committee member, Shaukat Nawaz Mir, and demanded his immediate release.

They raised slogans such as “Long Live Kashmir” and “Long Live the People.”

London (United Kingdom): Demonstrators express support for Pakistan-occupied Kashmir

The Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee stated that a large number of people gathered in London to express support for Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and condemn the violence against innocent civilians. The organisation added that Kashmiris living abroad stand firmly with their people and will continue to support their movement.

The United Kingdom chapter of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) also extended its support to the protest. The party claimed that several people were killed during the demonstrations, hundreds were injured, and a large number of protesters were arrested.
