New Delhi – Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a big announcement about ‘FASTag’. He announced the issuance of a ‘FASTag’ based annual pass worth ₹3,000 for private vehicles. This pass will be effective from August 15, 2025. This pass has been designed for non-commercial private vehicles like cars, jeeps and vans. This will enable non-stop travel on national highways across the country.

Gadkari has said that a separate link to purchase or renew the annual pass will soon be made available on the ‘Highway Travel App’ and the ‘Website’ of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways

By reducing waiting time, and congestion and eliminating disputes at toll plazas, the Union Minister wrote on ‘X’ that the annual pass policy is committed to providing a faster, smoother and better travel experience for lakhs of private vehicle drivers.
