Discrepancies in witness testimony revealed in cross-examination by advocate Virendra Ichalkaranjikar !

Comrade Govind Pansare murder case !

Kolhapur, Maharashtra – Sachin Oswal, who testified that he had gone there after hearing the sound of gunshots in the Govind Pansare murder case, says in cross-examination that he telephoned number 108, while in the testimony taken by the prosecution, he says that he called ‘number 101’. He says, aged father despite suffering from a heart ailment, ‘reached the spot of firing within few moments’. The road where the shots were fired sees heavy traffic, yet; when the Pansare duo was shot at, it was only the relatives of the Pansare family who put the couple in a four-wheeler and took them to the hospital. Hence, there are many discrepancies in Oswal’s testimony which were revealed before the court by advocate Virendra Ichalkaranjikar in cross- examination. The case of murder of comrade Govind Pansare is being heard in front of district and session judge S. S. Tambe. Advocate Virendra Ichalkaranjikar revealed these discrepancies during the hearing held on 11 June.

The prosecution has recorded the testimony of Sachin Oswal, a witness in the Pansare murder case, in the court and the defence is cross-examining him. Advocate Shivajirao Rane was present on behalf of the prosecution. Advocate Sameer Patwardhan, Advocate Preeti Patil were present during the proceedings. The next hearing is scheduled for June 20.
