Islamabad, Pakistan – Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly in Pakistan, Malik Ahmed Khan, has tried to support Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Saifullah Khalid, accused in the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

In a statement to the media on June 1, Malik said that India has held Saifullah responsible for the Pahalgam attack without conducting any investigation. Within days of the attack, Indian authorities registered a case against Saifullah; but they have no evidence.Malik accused the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being responsible for terrorist attacks in India. On May 28, during an event held in Punjab, Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists and several political leaders appeared on the same stage.Pahalgam attack mastermind Saifullah, Lashkar-e-Taiba co-founder Amir Hamza and Hafiz Saeed’s son Talha Saeed were also present at the event. Pakistan’s Food Minister Malik Rashid Ahmed Khan and Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan were also present.These leaders and terrorists made provocative speeches against India and raised slogans in support of Khalistan.
