30,000 military uniforms meant for terrorist group ‘Kuki-Chin National Front’ seized in Chittagong, Bangladesh

Terrorists were planning attacks in Manipur and Mizoram in India

Chittagong (Bangladesh) – Security forces conducted a raid on a factory in Chittagong and seized 30,000 military uniforms. These uniforms were being produced for the banned terrorist group ‘Kuki-Chin National Front’. Interestingly, 10,000 of these uniforms had already been dispatched to the group’s militants. The total value of the uniforms is estimated at 20 crore Bangladeshi Taka (approx. ₹13.9 crore). Preliminary investigations reveal that the Kuki-Chin National Front was planning a simultaneous war against India, Myanmar, and Bangladesh using these uniforms. The targets included India’s Manipur and Mizoram, Myanmar’s Rakhine State, and Bangladesh’s Chittagong.

1. The group is suspected to have been involved in rocket attacks in Manipur in 2024. It is also responsible for several bank robberies in Bangladesh.

2. The organisation is believed to be receiving indirect support from both China and the United States. The US is allegedly using such groups to sabotage China’s ambitious project at the Kyaukpyu port in Myanmar.

3. The Kuki-Chin National Front has entered into a secret agreement with Ansar al-Islam, an Al- Qaeda-backed terrorist organisation in Bangladesh. Many of its terrorists have been trained in guerilla warfare and suicide attacks at Ansar’s terrorist camps. In return, the group has agreed to provide logistical support and safe shelters for Ansar terrorists in the hilly regions. The Kuki- Chin National Front currently has around 3,000 trained terrorists, with over 1,000 recently trained.

Attempt to establish ‘Kukiland’

The Kuki-Chin National Front was founded in 2008 under the leadership of Nathan Bom. Initially, the group’s objective was social development, but by 2017 it had turned into an armed militant organisation with the primary aim of creating an independent Kuki nation called ‘Kukiland’. This proposed state would include parts of Manipur and Mizoram in India, Chin State in Myanmar, and Chittagong in Bangladesh.

Editorial Perspective

It is now evident who is aiding the terrorist organisation that has been carrying out attacks in Manipur over the past few years. Given such situation, it is incomprehensible why India is remaining passive against Bangladesh !
