Drums of ‘Shankhnad Mahotsav’ started beating in Goa

Ponda, 13^th May – The State of Goa, otherwise known mainly for tourism, is presently being discussed for a different reason and that is ‘Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnad Mahotsav’. On the occasion of silver jubilee of Sanatan Sanstha and 83^rd birthday of Sachchidananda Parabrahman Dr Jayant Athavale, this grand event has been organised from 17.05.2025 to 19.05.2025 on the grounds of Farmagudi engineering college in Ponda. The preparations of the event, which is to start in just  three days, are going on in full swing. Posters, banners, hoardings, saffron flags and huge welcome arches etc. displayed at different places have created a needed atmosphere. Overall, the drums of ‘Shankhnad Mahotsav’ have started beating in Goa.

‘Cut-outs’ exhibited in railway station area drawing attention

As one comes out of Madgaon railway station, one sees the banners of ‘Mahotsav’ with a photograph of Sachchidananda Parabrahman Dr Athavale. Attention is drawn to the ‘Cut- out’ emblem of ‘Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnad Mahotsav’ prepared in a round shape, displayed at the ‘chowk’ next to the main gate of Madgaon station. This ‘Cut-out’ is made in a special way and people passing by cannot miss it but many are taking photos of the ‘Cut- out’. Huge hoardings with photos of Saints have been displayed at short distances. Similarly, on the road to Goa airport, huge and mammoth hoardings are displayed, making people realise the greatness of this ‘Mahotsav’.

Videos recorded for publicity of the ‘Mahotsav’ are extensively circulated on social media. In Sindhudurg district, which is adjacent to Goa, videos are made viral among the local ‘Bhajan’-groups, WhatsApp groups, etc. creating curiosity among the people of Sindhudurg.
