1. Shyamlal Ninori had been serving the dargah of Syed Nizamuddin for the last 40 years. During this time, the locals considered him a Muslim and named him Shahabuddin. Shyamlal also started considering himself as Shahabuddin.
2. Like Muslims, Shahabuddin and his family used to observe fast during Ramzan and also offer prayers. Not only this, they followed all the religious beliefs of Islam. People also knew him as ‘Dargawale Baba’.
3. Shahabuddin had a change of heart after 28 Hindu tourists were killed by jihadi terrorists in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. At the initiative of local corporator Jitu Yadav, he re-entered Hinduism and became Shyamalal again.
4. After this, Shyamalal organized the recitation of Sundarkand instead of Qawwali in the dargah area and paid tribute to those who died in the Pahalgam attack. On this occasion, a large number of citizens of the area, including Corporator Jitu Yadav, were present.
