Tel Aviv (Israel) – On the morning of March 18, Israel launched another attack on Gaza following the ceasefire. According to Gaza’s health ministry, at least 235 people were killed in Israel’s airstrike, marking it as the largest attack on Gaza so far. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, “Since no significant progress was made in the ceasefire extension talks, the order for the attack was given.”
Reacting to this, the terrorist organisation Hamas warned, “Israel’s new attacks on Gaza violate the ceasefire and could endanger the lives of hostages.” Hamas still holds 24 Israeli hostages alive.
Israel targeted refugee camps in the Bureij area, where displaced Palestinians had taken shelter in a school. That school was also attacked. Prior to this assault, Israel had halted the supply of food, medicine, and fuel to Gaza, leading to severe famine-like conditions.
Strikes on Syria and Lebanon as well
Israel also carried out airstrikes in Lebanon and Syria, reportedly killing at least 10 people.
Israel had consulted the US before the attack
White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt stated that Israel had discussed the Gaza attack with the Trump administration. She added, “As President Trump has made clear, Hamas, the Houthis, and Iran will have to pay the price for instilling terror on the US and Israel. Everything will be destroyed.”
