Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) -An attempt by of Christians to take impoverished Hindus from this area to a church in Jalandhar, Punjab, for religious conversion was thwarted due to the vigilance of Bajrang Dal activists. In connection with the case, the Police rescued 18 Hindus from the Patalkot Express late at night on 12th March. All of them belonged to the working class.
According to the Police, two individuals, Sejnath Suryavanshi and Vijay Kumar from Chhindwara, lured these labourers with promises such as, “If you convert to Christianity, we will give you Rs 1 lakh each, provide your children with education in good Christian schools, and secure them jobs abroad.” Falling for this temptation, 18 people were travelling to Jalandhar with these two Christians on the Patalkot Express for conversion.

Upon receiving this information, Bajrang Dal activists promptly alerted the Police. Acting swiftly, officers halted the Patalkot Express at Ganjbasoda railway station in Vidisha and took 11 passengers into custody. Subsequently, four more passengers were detained at Bina railway station. The Police then learned that three additional individuals were in coach S-5. Anticipating the Police’s arrival, these three attempted to flee, but officers stopped the train at Gwalior railway station and apprehended them. The Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
