Hindu Temple Vandalised Once Again in the USA

  • Khalistani involvement suspected

  • Ministry of External Affairs registers strong protest

California (USA) – The Shri Swaminarayan Temple in Chino Hills, California, was vandalised, with offensive slogans defacing its walls. Photos circulating on social media reveal slogans like “Modi-Hindustan Murdabad” along with derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has strongly condemned the incident and urged local authorities to take strict action. The Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) has also denounced the attack, highlighting that it occurred just days before the so-called Khalistani referendum in Los Angeles.

1. BAPS Issues Official Statement

The Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) confirmed the attack through a statement on social media, condemning the desecration of the Shri Swaminarayan Temple in Chino Hills.

2. MEA’s Strong Condemnation

The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement saying, “We strongly condemn such hateful acts. We urge local law enforcement agencies to take stern action against the perpetrators and ensure the safety of all places of worship.”

Series of Attacks on Hindu Temples in the USA

  • Since 2022, at least six Hindu temples across different states in the USA have been vandalised with anti-Hindu slogans and graffiti.
  • In September last year, both the Shri Swaminarayan Temple in Sacramento, California, and the Shri Swaminarayan Temple in Melville, New York, were similarly desecrated.

Editorial Perspective

“Despite repeated attacks on Hindu temples in the USA and Canada, these so-called ‘developed’ nations fail to take action. This is nothing but blatant anti-India and anti-Hindu bias”.
