3-year-old girl sexually assaulted by her 16-year-old relative in Tamil Nadu

‘The girl must have done something wrong to the boy leading to the assault’ : District Collector’s outrageous statement

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) – A case of sexual assault of a 3-year-old girl by her 16-year-old relative in Mayiladuthurai District of Tamil Nadu came to light 5 days ago. After the assault, the boy also brutally beat the girl up. She is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital. The District Collector has made an outrageous statement about this incident. Mayiladuthurai District Collector A P Mahabharathi remarked, “The girl must have done something wrong; her incorrect behavior must have led to her sexual assault. According to the information I have received, the girl had spat on the boy’s face on the morning of the day of the incident. Maybe that was the reason. We should investigate the statements from both sides.”
